Tony began serving Safe Harbor as assistant pastor in January 2015. He and his wife, Heather, whom he married in 2010, grew up in central Iowa. He was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with parents who modeled genuine faith in Christ. Tony embraced Christ as his Savior as a boy after hearing a Sunday School teacher present the gospel message.

He attended college at Iowa State University (B.A., 2001, philosophy and religious studies), where the Lord deepened his trust and love for Christ through intellectual challenges and the experience of authentic Christian community. Tony is a graduate of Denver Seminary (M.Div., 2008).

Prior to coming to Safe Harbor, he spent two years leading a church revitalization effort in Omaha, Nebraska. He enjoys rock & roll music, playing guitar, coffee-shops, reading theology, and following Iowa State Cyclone athletics. Tony's ministry passions are sharing Christ with the unchurched and de-churched, helping believers grow in grace, working with college students and other young adults, and promoting spiritually vital Christian education and small-group ministries.

Christian has been the Youth Director of Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church since 2000. Ministries include middle school, high school and college-age students.

An avid photographer, he takes thousands of pictures each year from nature photos from backpacking trips to pictures at youth group members' events. If they are in a game or a play, he often attends and takes pictures. "The pictures are a great way to connect with the families of the kids."

During his college years he also turned a fascination with magic into a career. What started as a sideline eventually led to performing to both children and adults, including celebrities like Vice President Al Gore, President George Bush and ESPN's Kenny Mayne.

Since 2001, Christian has traveled more than 20 times to El Salvador as part of a non-profit group. He credits his wife, Marianne, a volleyball coach at Annapolis Area Christian School, for support and his parents for setting an excellent example.

Born and raised in Carshalton, England, Karen has spent most of her adult life in the U.S., living and working in various cities. She met her husband, Mike, on a Metro train in D.C and recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. The have three beautiful daughters and have lived on Kent Island since 2002.

Karen's journey with God led her to Safe Harbor, where she's been employed since 2005. She has really enjoyed working at the church, which has strengthened her walk with Jesus in so many ways. She enjoys singing with the Praise Worship Team and also working with children's choir, VBS and the annual Christmas pageant.

Outside of church, she and Mike like to travel and hike, most recently completing the Maryland portion of the Appalachian Trail!
