Vision
Vision
SHPC is a family of faith that finds our greatest delight in our Father in heaven, we are learning together to be moved by his holiness and mastered by his grace, and we are about our Father's business of extending His love and forgiveness into this world; therefore: We believe God has called us to bring the power of the Gospel to bare on as many lives as possible (starting with our own renewal and revival) resulting in the expansion of Christ's Kingdom throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland blossoming into a growing network of churches and ministries of hope and joy that spread the Kingdom of Jesus Christ across the spiritually barren Delmarva Peninsula and then ultimately throughout the whole world.

History
Early in 1996, God called several Kent Island families together in a Bible study and began to stir their hearts to become church planters. This core group of pioneers on the Eastern Shore, most of whom attended Evangelical Presbyterian church in Annapolis, began to develop a vision of what a faithful church plant on Kent Island could look like. At the very same time God was working on Todd's heart up in Pittsburgh, convincing him to take the risk of being a church planter and instilling in his mind the very same vision he was giving to the core group on Kent Island -- a vision that was the answer to the prayers of so many for so long -- a biblical, evangelistic, reformed, relevant, spirit-filled church, where the joy of salvation overflows in passionate worship and faithful lives of service to Christ the King.
In November of 1997 Pastor Williams, with his wife and three young boys, moved from Pittsburgh to his wife's parent's house in Baltimore, and began working with the core group to plan for a church plant on Kent Island. On January 11, 1998 Safe Harbor Mission held its first worship service. From the core group of 28 members from EP, Safe Harbor has grown to a church of more than 400. The church has seen a steady stream of people being brought into a saving relationship with Christ and into joyful submission to His rule and reign in their lives, and solely by the grace and blessing of God.
